Youth Recreational Soccer
With an emphasis on fair play and fun, soccer at the Y is progressive with age appropriate rules to help teach the game and keep it fun at every level. Our soccer program focuses on sportsmanship and teaching basic skills including kicking, passing, dribbling, shooting, defense and working as a team.
Soccer is offered in a 4 week Spring Session and a 6 Week Fall Session for kids grades Pre-K through 8th Grade.
All boys and girls in grades K-3rd are encouraged to participate in traditional Flag Football. The focus is teamwork in a positive and structured environment. Children will learn to throw, catch , run routes and other aspects of the game that will keep them active and help develop skills such as hand-eye coordination. In addition, children will have an opportunity to develop leadership skills and build self-esteem as they improve their technique.
All girls and boys in grades K-3rd grade are encouraged to participate in Fall Cheerleading. Kids will increase strength, flexibility and balance while learning the fundamentals of cheerleading. Participants learn age-appropriate chants, cheers and routines as well as experience the performance aspect of cheerleading as they cheer for the Y Flag Football teams.
Youth Recreational Basketball
The YMCA offers 2 seasons:
6 week season in the fall (Nov/Dec)
4 week season in the winter (Feb/Mar)
Youth Tee-ball/Whiffle Tee-ball
Registration usually opens sometime in March and ends in early May. Games played on 6 Monday Evenings in June/July.
