Mexico Marlin Swim Team

The swim team is open to any youth 6 - 18 years of age. Participation on the team requires a tryout for new members. This can be done any weekday between 3:30 and 4:30 PM at the Mexico YMCA pool the first month of the season. To join the team we ask that your child be able to swim 25 yards freestyle (crawl), 25 yards backstroke, 25 yards breaststroke unassisted and also be able to tread water for a minute.

Mini Marlins Swim School; for young kids (ages 5 to 8) that don't meet the qualifications for the competitive swim team. This level is designed to prepare swimmers for the competitive team. It is available in both the Summer and Winter seasons. Next session will be in January 2020.

The team is divided into three levels based on a set pace. The levels are: Bronze (beginner), Silver (intermediate), and Gold (advanced).

Swim team encourages self-discipline, perfects competitive strokes, builds positive self-esteem and also builds friendships.

There are two seasons; Winter (September-March) and Summer (May-Middle of July). Winter season requires participants to also be members of the YMCA, Summer season Y membership is not required.
