Memorials
Many people choose to remember friends and loved ones by making a donation to the YMCA in their name. This living memorial can be used to help youth, older adults, or to improve our physical facility. The YMCA acknowledges all donations.  Learn More

Annual Support Campaign

Every Kid deserves a Y! The Mexico Area Family YMCA Board of Directors believes this to be a true statement. To ensure that as many kids as possible participate in Y programs regardless of their parent’s ability to pay, they established an Annual Support Campaign as the major fundraiser for the YMCA. Your contribution to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign ensures that area children who are unable to pay are included in programs that teach them life skills and have a positive impact on their future and the future of the community.

Giving to our Annual Support Campaign is year-round. To sponsor a child Donate Today

Donations to our Endowment Fund
The YMCA Heritage Club’s purpose is to encourage thoughtful gifts as a primary means of building a strong endowment capable of providing lasting support for the YMCA’s mission and to recognize members whose leadership, service and devotion to the YMCA have created this heritage.

Heritage Club Donations may be made in one of the following ways:

  • An outright gift of cash- In this way, each member not only benefits from the good that will be done, but you will receive a current income tax savings.
  • An outright gift of appreciated assets- If you choose to contribute such items as stock or property owned for longer than one year, you would receive a charitable deduction equal to the current value of the assets while avoiding capital gains taxes.
  • A life insurance gift- Naming the YMCA as a primary or even secondary beneficiary of your insurance policy paves the way for a large future gift. If you wish to contribute a life insurance policy that is no longer needed to protect current beneficiaries, you could realize substantial income tax deductions.
  • A gift through your will- You may wish to consider including the YMCA in your will or living trust. In this way, a fixed amount, specific asset or percentage of your estate may be set aside as bequests and qualify for estate deductions.
  • A gift made through a charitable trust or annuity- Creating a charitable trust or annuity provides life income for yourself and/or others. With all or a portion of your gift eventually directed to the YMCA, you could receive a charitable deduction.
