pickleball and batting cage information



  1. All users of the batting cages understand they use the facility at their own risk
  2. Youth 14 years of age and younger must be accompanied by an ACTIVE ADULT MEMBER, 15 years of age or older. Adults are responsible for the actions of the youths in the batting cage.
  3. Home plate mat and tarp must be set up before hitting in the cage.
  4. When hitting only 2 or 3 people are allowed in the cage at a time, the pitcher or machine operator, a catcher in full gear and the hitter.  If throwing or pitching only, more than 2 are allowed in the cage.
  5. The Y highly recommends all batters bring and wear an approved batting helmet. The Y does not accept responsibility for injury to anyone choosing to not wear a helmet.
  6. No cleats or spikes, appropriate gym shoes only.
  7. Absolutely NO SOFT TOSS OR T WORK is allowed outside of the batting cage net. Small whiffle balls with a hitting stick may be used outside the cage if space is available.
  8. No throwing or hitting activity outside the cage is permitted.
  9. When departing please pick up balls, helmets, bats and trash.
  10. Use only balls supplied by the YMCA, the dimpled pitching machine's balls, when using the pitching machine.
  11. Real balls may be used to throw or pitch inside the cage.
  12. NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED IN THE AREA EXCEPT WATER.


Failure to abide by these rules will result in the loss of your batting cage privileges.

Tournament Schedule

SATURDAY FEBRUARY 22ND

  • Men’s and Women’s Doubles
  • Women will begin at 9:00AM
  • Men will begin at 12:30PM

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 23RD

  • Mixed Doubles, all levels and divisions will begin at 10:00 AM unless the number of entries requires a change.


Tournament Registration

  • Each participant will need to register for each division they plan to play. You will be asked your partners name during registration.
  • Fee: Mexico YMCA Members, $12/division (Non Members, $15/division)
  • Payment due at registration and is non-refundable.
  • Registration Deadline is WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 12, 2025.

OTHER DETAILS

  • Format will be determined by the number of teams in a division. Our goal is to give all players as many games as possible. Round Robin is used when possible.
  • Skill Level tournament with age brackets where possible, based on the youngest partners age.
  • Levels may be combined if necessary depending on the number of entries.
  • Medals awarded for 1st, 2nd place, and 3rd place.
